Alabama’s Beaches are ready for golf right now, thanks to mild coastal temperatures and a lineup of championship and resort courses that are playable long before spring arrives elsewhere. With plenty of courses across Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, you can tee off in short sleeves while winter still lingers at home.

Beyond the 18th, the local scene becomes a perfect double-play: beach time and fresh seafood. Play in the morning, enjoy Gulf shrimp for lunch, and watch the tide roll in at sunset. It’s all part of the Coastal Code. Remember Alabama’s Beaches Rule #83: “There’s a reason that Golf and Gulf are so similar.” The coastline and the course make a perfect match: scenic, salty, and surprisingly forgiving.

As for the golf, you’ve got miles of golf to choose from among more than a half a dozen local courses. Seriously! Add the yardages together, and you’ve got about 20 miles of course to explore, from laid-back resort greens to championship layouts that test every club in the bag. Prefer a signature round? Craft Farms’ Cotton Creek and Cypress Bend courses provide the only Arnold Palmer-designed courses in Alabama, making them a must for any bucket-list trip.

There’s no need to wait for spring. The fairways are ready and calling. Tee times are available, stay-and-play packages make planning easy, and the warm weather helps melt away winter blues. And hey, need a do-over? Rule #9: “Mulligans are allowed, as long as you’re the one buying.” Prepare now for a great time on and off the greens. Rule #7 applies here: “Tee time and happy hour are the only times that matter.”
